Take a trip to the Lady Knox Geyser and get a taste of the Maori legend. The best way to learn about Maori culture in New Zealand is to visit a marae - a communal meeting house in Rototua’s tribal quarter. Twenty seven kilometres south of Rotorua is Wai-O-Tapu (literally, sacred waters) - a hotbed of geothermal activity. See the country’s largest mud pool and the Lady Knox Geyser which erupts (with the addition of biodegradable soap) at precisely 10:15 every morning. You could also take the full day tour to the Lakes districtand visit the Blue and Green Lakes and Lake Tarawera, from whereyou can see the splendid Mt. Tarawera.
