Southwest of Pretoria and an hour’s drive from Johannesburg, the Lesedi Cultural Village mirrors South Africa’s cultural diversity and vibrant traditions. Housing five tribes- Zulu, Ndebele, Basotho, Pedi and Xhosa, Lesedi village offers a taste of Africa’s rich tribal traditions. Explore the village and see the combative Zulu tribe with their fighting sticks and beehive huts, the articulate Xhosa with their flawless thatched rondawels and white blankets, the noisy Pedi tribe with their whistling and grinding drums and finally the Basotho tribe with their straw hats and vivid blankets. Enjoy the primitive pounding drum beats that herald a performance of the traditional dances and songs of the tribes. Join in the merriment and follow it up with a traditional African meal.
