This is truly an interesting way to explore one of the city’s famous artisan’s workshops and sample some delectable ice creams at Gelateria Grom. Tucked away on a tiny street across from Casa di Dante is the workshop of the extraordinary artisan Simone Taddei. Following the tradition set by his father and grandfather, Taddei makes exquisite, highly polished leather boxes in a myriad of sizes and forms. Working completely alone, he first makes a wooden mold, which is then sanded and covered in calfskin, and stained in an assortment of rich colors. Don’t forget to pick up a souvenir or two from him! The perfect way to conclude your trip is by visiting the famous ice cream shop ‘Gelateria Grom’ which uses natural ingredients such as fruits and sugar. Savor some delicious, rich, creamy and fruity fare.
