Archiving the historic American industry of shipwrecking, the unique Shipwreck Historeum offers a hands-on experience like no other. 19th century Master Wrecker, Asa Tift narrates about the strenuous work of watching for wrecks off the Key West coast and then scrambling to seize the booty. Enjoy a video presentation as you learn about the great wreck of the Isaac Allerton and its recent rediscovery as you swim back in time 150 years. Climb a 6 5 foot Captain’s Observatory and see if you can spot any wreckages! Don’t miss your opportunity to make your own decision as to whether these men were a talented group of artists and athletes or just a bunch of unruly thieves.
