Bali is one of the most unique islands, out of the over 12,000 islands that make up Indonesia. Its religion, culture and almost everything about Bali sets it apart from the rest of the country. Bali is famous for its beaches, trendy resorts and a tranquillity that remains serenely indifferent to all the tourist attention it has received over the decades. On this tour, explore the island of Bali, and learn more about its rich history, culture and friendly people. Take in the breathtaking and panoramic sweep of terrace rice fields that dominate the landscape. Rivers and small irrigation streams dissect a luscious green landscape, filling the air with enchanting sounds of running water. Bali is divided by a string of impressive volcanoes running almost through the centre of the island. The Balinese people believe that mountains, and particularly, volcanoes are the abode of the gods. The Gunung Agung mountain is considered, sacred among local people as it is believed to be the centre of the universe. The Ubud Monkey Forest is a sanctuary for primates. Bali is renowned for its highly developed arts, including dance, sculpture, painting, leather, metalworking and music. Sun-drenched beaches, azure waters of the Indian Ocean, delicious cuisine and rich architectural and cultural heritage – this Balinese bonanza is not to be missed!
