A sightseeing tour around Algarve is a must-do for every visitor to Portugal. See one of the spookiest sights at the Nossa Senhora do Carmo church in Faro. Its Bone Chapel has skeletal remains of former monks artistically arranged in neat rows, the arm and leg bones form frames for hundreds of toothy skulls. An inscription over the doorway translates to: "Stop here and think of the fate that will befall you”. Take a trip to Tavira, one of the most architecturally attractive towns in Algarve. Its old castle ruins, the Santa Maria do Castelo Church housing the tombs of the knights and the 4th century Roman Bridge across River Gilao, makes Tavira an interesting sightseeing destination. Explore Olhao, stroll down its waterfront markets and enjoy a boat cruise through the natural park of Ria Formosa.
