Game Spotting Safaris in the North-14 Days/13 Nights |
- Explore northern Tanzania’s game reserves and see an incredible variety of wildlife and birds
| Overview | |
Visit northern Tanzania and explore its wildlife safari parks and game reserves. At the Simanjiro game controlled area, located on the border of Tarangire Park, you can learn the art of animal tracking. Test your new found skill as you take a bush walk escorted by armed rangers. Participate in activities like anti-poaching and get rifle training. Also learn about Maasai culture while you are at the reserve. Continue to the 2850 square kilometres Tarangire National Park and don’t forget your binoculars for bird watching as this park has a large variety of birds. Take a wildlife safari in the park and you could spot herds of wildebeest, elephants, hartebeests, kudus and giraffes. You can also take a walk, accompanied by armed guards and naturalists, to the Kikoto Rock. Drive down to the 8300 square kilometres Ngorongoro conservation area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the 20 kilometres wide Ngorongoro crater, whose thick forests, grasslands and wetlands provide the perfect setting for game spotting. If you’re lucky, you could spot predators like lions, cheetahs and leopards. You also have the option to visit the 3100 metre high Olmoti crater, and see a variety of birds and wildlife. Continue on your way to the world famous Serengeti National Park and stop at Ol Duvai Gorge (100 metres, 50 kilometres long), along the way. The vast and treeless expanse of the Serengeti reserve is something you wouldn’t want to miss! Take a game safari and spot African wildlife like wildebeest, lions, elephants, zebras, buffaloes, gazelles, giraffes, elands and a variety of bird life. Fly to the south-western region of Lake Victoria to the 240 square kilometres Rubondo Island. Explore a variety of flora and fauna as you venture into the forest with armed rangers. You can also go on a boating safari in the Mlaga Swamps and spot birds like herons, cormorants, kingfishers, flycatchers and fish eagles. Offering you a perfect blend of wildlife and wilderness, a visit to the northern wildlife safari parks will delight you.
