Plunge into a celebration of life as you swim with tropical fish, wander amongst lazy sea lions and dive into the mysterious depths of the ocean. Beginning from the colonial capital of Quito, spend the day strolling around the ‘old town’, savoring the old world charm of one of South America’s best-preserved colonial cities. Add some equatorial magic as you visit the Equatorial Monument and straddle two hemispheres! The next day, your island adventure will begin as you arrive at Galapagos Islands. A group of volcanic islands, you will be awed by underwater craters and the unusual landscape of the islands. Head out to the basalt island of Isla Lobos or the ‘Sea Lion Island’ and delight in the noisy colony of lazy sea lions. Turtles, spotted eagle rays and marine iguanas will also vie for your attention as you prepare for the first plunge into the ocean depths. The underwater world will welcome you further in its midst as you dive off North Seymour and Cousins rock to swim with playful sea lions and explore black coral. Graduate to the world class diving site of Wolf Island and Darwin Island and you will meet the bigger fish of the ocean as you glimpse sting rays, Galapagos sharks and dolphins. For more marine thrills, dive off the sheer drop rock at Cape Marshall or explore the unusual moon-like landscape of the islands. Crystal clear grottos, inland lagoons and lava tubes will only add to this unique adventure as you explore Santiago and Puerto Ayora. Revel in the simple joys of nature as you engage with tortoises in the Tortoise Reserve. A visit to the 152 foot high Kicker Rock will leave you stunned at the region’s extraordinary landscape and give you a sense of nature’s fascinating creations. An adventure of a lifetime, you can unfurl the mysteries of the ocean and treasure memories of this magical underwater kingdom.
