This holiday, trek, swim or snorkel in the Galapagos Islands.Beginning from the colonial capital of Quito, spend the day exploring one of South America’s best-preserved colonial cities. Your island adventure begins as you arrive at Galapagos Islands and board the ‘Sullidae’. Get a taste of the islands’ wildlife as you meet ‘Lonesome George’, one of the many giant tortoises on Santa Cruz Island.The next day, a leisurely cruise will take you to Floreana Island and green sand beaches set in dramatic contrast to pink flamingoes. Visit Devil’s Crown, a sub-marine crater and you will encounter a spectacular snorkeling expedition with playful sea lions. Drift on to Espanola Island and watch sea lion pups sun bathing with marine iguanas and blue footed boobies. Add a dash of marine wildlife as you snorkel or swim off the shores of Gardner Bay. Further delight waits at Punta Suarez where you can trek across lava terrain, accompanied by albatrosses and herons. The highlight of the island though is a magnificent blowhole shooting water 75 feet in the air! Continue to Santa Fe for a trek through towering cacti forests past rainbow streaked lava lizards and follow it up with a snorkeling adventure with sea lions. More sea lions will greet you at Plaza Island as you set off on an exploration of its unique flora. No visit to the islands will be complete without the Charles Darwin Research Centre. You can also stock up on souvenirs as you visit the local ships of Puerto Ayora. Top this off with a visit to the Twin Craters for a fun and informative adventure exploring the geological creations of the island.Add a splash of pink to the holiday as you cruise to Cerro Dragon, home to the leggy flamingo. The lava flow of Sullivan Bay will add to the magic of the islands as you explore its unusual terrain. Follow this with a steep hike up the slopes of a volcano on Bartolome Island and you will be rewarded with a panoramic view of the islands. Cruise to Las Bachas beach and get a taste of the islands’ wildlife at a sea turtle nesting area, followed by a refreshing dip in the Pacific. Offering a range of experiences, this is one holiday you will not want to miss.
