This holiday, trek, swim or snorkel in the Galapagos Islands.Beginning from the colonial capital of Quito, spend the day exploring one of South America’s best-preserved colonial cities. Your island adventure begins as you arrive at Galapagos Islands and board the ‘Rumba’. Cruise to Las Bachas beach and get a taste of the islands’ wildlife at a sea turtle nesting area, followed by a refreshing dip in the Pacific. Enjoy an evening sipping cocktails under a starry sky and luxuriating in the comforts of the cruise ship. Spend the next day in the company of sea lions as you set sail for Plaza Island and Santa Fe. Lazy sea lions lounging under the sun will greet you as you begin an exploration of the island and its unique flora. Later, trek through the towering cacti forests of Santa Fe, past rainbow streaked lava lizards and follow it up with a snorkeling adventure with sea lions. Drift to Espanola Island where animals reign supreme and humans are mere guests. Watch sea lion pups sun bathing with marine iguanas and blue footed boobies and add a dash of marine wildlife as you snorkel or swim off the shores of Gardner Bay. You can also soak up some sun as you sunbathe aboard the Rumba with lion fish and Galapagos hawks for company. Continue to Floreana Island where you will be captivated by green sand beaches set in dramatic contrast to pink flamingoes. At Devil’s Crown, a sub-marine crater, you will now encounter a spectacular snorkeling expedition. The next day, walk amongst giant tortoises at the Charles Darwin Research Centre of Santa Cruz or pick up souvenirs of your island getaway at Puerto Ayora. Your wildlife adventure continues as you wake up to the sound of barking sea lions on the seashell pink sands of Rabida Island. Keep your cameras handy as you hike past a pelican nesting area with sea birds whirling above your head. A special treat awaits you at Santiago Island where fur sea lions rest near the cool waters of a grotto. Trek across the black volcanic landscape of the island and you will be engulfed by the uniqueness of the lava terrain. Follow this with a steep hike up the slopes of a volcano on Bartolome Island and you will be rewarded with a panoramic view of the islands. Wind up this island
