Galapagos Programs with Aida Maria - 7 Days/6 Nights |
Drift to the Galapagos Islands for a unique encounter with wildlife, set in lava landscape.
| Overview | |
This holiday, trek, swim or snorkel in the Galapagos Islands.Beginning from the colonial capital of Quito, spend the day exploring one of South America’s best-preserved colonial cities. Your island adventure begins as you arrive at Galapagos Islands and board the Aida Maria. Cruise to Santa Cruz Island and Las Bachas beach and get a taste of the islands’ wildlife at a sea turtle nesting area followed by a refreshing dip in the Pacific. The next day, explore the towering cacti trees of Santa Fe and Plaza Island and snorkel with a noisy colony of sea lions. Drift on to Espanola Island and watch sea lion pups sun bathing with marine iguanas and blue footed boobies. Add a dash of marine wildlife as you snorkel or swim off the shores of Gardner Bay. Further delight waits at Punta Suarez where you can trek across lava terrain, accompanied by blue footed boobies, albatrosses and herons. Continue on to Floreana Island where you will be captivated by green sand beaches set in dramatic contrast to pink flamingoes. No island holiday will be complete without a visit to the Charles Darwin Research Centre and you can also pick up some souvenirs at local shops. Added to this, Santa Cruz also offers the rare opportunity to walk amongst giant tortoises. The next day, keep your camera handy as you visit the pink seashell shores of Rabida followed by Santiago. Pelicans, swooping gulls, hawks and fur seals will keep you company as you explore the islands. As your journey drifts to an end, you will be left with delightful memories of this Galapagos Island adventure.
