Depart Durban travelling north to The Greater St Lucia Wetland Park renowned for species diversity both terrestrial and marine with large protected areas and marine reserves where no interference is allowed from land or sea.Due to the warm tropical water and the proximity of the Mozambique channel, the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park is renowned to be one of the best fishing areas in the world. With an abundance of reef fish and bait fish many record fish come from this area. Go on a game drive in 4 x 4 vehicle with spotlights. Your driver and guide will take you through the Eastern shores of the St Lucia Wetland Park to look for nocturnally active species. A full day will be spent deep sea fishing. Big Game fishing: Marlin, Sailfish Dorado, Barracuda, Sharks. Bottom fishing is very good off the underwater canyons here. Traveling north towards Mozambique you enter paradise for the fisherman. Kosi Bay is world- renowned for the best salt water fly fishing in Africa. With the abundance of bait-fish and some massive predators this place never disappoints. Even the first-time angler will have a great time in the shallow waters of Kosi Bay. Check in at Amakhosi Lodge. The riverfront setting of the main building and river lodges, all with raised timber decks, provides a platform from which to observe the wild animals and birds.The lodge has a spacious lounge, covered terrace, swimming pool, bar and dining area.The luxury river lodges with private terraces, have been designed to blend in with the surrounding landscape, always facing the river.Each air-conditioned river lodge comprises one bedroom to accommodate two adults, with a lounge where one or two children may be accommodated on request.In the afternoon we set off on our first safari drive where we hope to see some of Africa’s large and small animals.
