An icy adventure awaits you as you behold the 30-kilometer long spectacle of awe, the Perito Moreno Glacier. A spectacular scenic drive from El Calafate, the southern gateway to Glacier Moreno’s crashing bergs will give you a flavor of Argentina’s snow-scape. The only glacier in the world that is not retreating, Perito Moreno is not just a large block of ice but an immense marvel of nature rising 60 meters above sea level with an ice depth of 170 meters! No description can really do justice to the immense icy blue berg, but it is a sight you are unlikely to ever forget. Formed 30,000 years ago, today Glacier Moreno is the world’s third largest fresh water reserve, advancing over the Argentine Lake, separating the lake in two parts. A phenomenal auditory experience if you are lucky to witness it, is when ice crashes and collapses into the iceberg channel.
