Explore the Techatticup Mine, where prospectors used picks and shovels to extract gold from the rugged underbelly of mountains. The small mining towns that grew up around Eldorado Canyon were hotbeds of lawlessness, as disputes between gold panners and ruthless mine owners often came to gun shots. On the way to Eldorado, enjoy Nevada’s beautiful desert scenery and stop to take pictures by the banks of Lake Mojave.
