The Costa Dorada region is just a short trip south of the city of Barcelona in the Catalonia region of Spain. It is seemingly endless miles of quiet beaches with fine golden sand. This stretch of the coastline has long been popular with tourists, and has recently been developed as a major international tourist destination after the opening of Port Aventura. There are a huge number of pubs, clubs and discos here along with a wide range of water sports and other leisure activities including golf, para-gliding, hiking, cycling and horse riding. This is one of the liveliest of all the Spanish coastal resort areas.
