On your trip to southern France, a cooking class and wine sampling experience at a typical Provencal village is a good idea! Enjoy a cooking session in the tiny kitchen of an auberge (inn/small hotel) in the picturesque village of Vernasque.

Explore the fundamentals of Mediterranean style of cooking, from marrying flavours to selecting the right ingredients and the usage of spices and olive oil – keeping in mind the great food tradition of the French! Perched atop a rocky outcrop, Vernasque is among the 126 most beautiful villages of France. As you make your way out of the village, you will notice ruins of ramparts and several beautiful chapels.

Take a trip to a wine cellar in the village of Beaumes de Venise at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail hills. It is home to the famous Muscat wine and the excellent AOC red wine. Sample some regional wine specialities and enjoy a scenic drive back to Avignon.
