Llamas and alpacas will greet you as you set off on a drive through the Aguada Blanca National Reserve to the awe-inspiring Colca canyon. Twice as deep as the Grand Canyon at 3191 meters, its plunging depths will fascinate you. Reflecting Peru’s unique heritage, the terraced Inca slopes of the canyon are used for agriculture and creates a startling contrast to the parched Altiplano (high plateau). Unwind from the day’s exertions with some Peru style rejuvenation at the mineral laden hot springs of La Calera. As the next day dawns, set out for ‘Condor Cross’ where graceful black and white condors circling far above, as you glance down the plunging depths Colca Canyon. Further delight waits as you tour to the 4000-meter high volcano lookout of Patapampa. Affording a magnificent view of eight volcanoes in a circle, this is something you will not want to miss. With plunging canyons and spectacular vistas, you will encounter Peru’s dramatic landscape on this tour.
