Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro-5 Days/4 Nights |
Climb up Kilimanjaro Mountain and appreciate nature’s beauty from 18635 feet!
| Overview | |
Climb Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain and one of the highest extinct volcanoes in the world, on this Tanzanian trip. Begin the trek from the Marangu Gate of the Kilimanjaro National Park. Cross thick rain forests and spot a variety of animals as you hike up to the Mandara Hut located at 9000 feet. About half an hour from the hut, the Maundi Crater, offers excellent views of the surrounding area. As you climb the Kilimanjaro Mountain, enjoy a panoramic view of alpine meadows, the Kibo and Mawenzi peaks and flat plains. On reaching the Horombo Hut (situated at 12500 feet), you will notice that with the high altitude, vegetation becomes sparse. Trek to the ‘saddle’ i.e. the area between the two peaks, and walk through semi-desert terrain to the Kibo Hut which lies at 15500 feet. The real ascent to the summit of this Tanzanian mountain begins from the Kibo hut. Cross the Hans Meyer caves and the steep rocky slopes and reach Gillman’s Point (18635 feet) on the crater’s rim. Enjoy splendid views of the ice covered cliffs and the towering Uhuru Peak from the 19340 feet high Kibo volcano. If the weather permits, you could hike up to the Uhuru Peak. Take this Tanzanian hiking tour to Mount Kilimanjaro and appreciate nature’s beauty from Africa’s highest mountain!
