Hop on to the Chiva Express for a fun-filled open air train ride in the Andes region in Ecuador. Adapted from an old-fashioned Latin American bus, the Chiva Express is a single coach train. The highlight of this wonderful carriage is its roof which has comfortable seating, allowing an obstruction-free viewing of the spectacular scenery of Ecuador. Begin your adventure from Quito and pass through the deep gorges and ravines of Latacunga with an overnight halt in Riobamba, at the foot of imposing Chimborazo Volcano. At Alausi traverse the famous ‘Devil’s Nose’, a tough bend in the railway track and an engineering marvel. The dramatic change in the terrain from the Andes ecosystems to tropical costal vegetation is beautiful. The open air train ride in the stunning Andes landscape in Ecuador will be a memorable experience.
