Ideally nestled between the hills and the coast, and home to the world-famous sherry and brandy, the manorial town of Jerez is a must-visit for every wine aficionado. To speak of Jerez de la Frontera is to speak of its sherry wines that have impregnated the whole of its culture, art forms and customs since 1100 BC. Take a trip to what is probably Europe’s largest wine cellar – Bodegas Williams & Humbert and sample some fine varieties of sherry and brandy. The bodega houses an impressive collection of old winery utensils dating back to the 17th century. It is a great chance to learn more about the production process and ageing of wines. Enjoy a delicious lunch at a typical Spanish restaurant before making a trip to Cadiz. Visit the famous Bodega Osborne wine cellar in Puerto de Santa Maria and find out why the region is also known as ‘Sherry Triangle’.
