For 114 years, the Manitou and Pikes Peak Railway (the world’s highest cog railroad) has taken passengers to the 14,110 foot summit of magnificent Pikes Peak. The little red trains used for the tour were imported from Switzerland, and you may very well feel as though you are transported into the Swiss Alps! There is much to see as you climb to the summit of Pikes Peak. This delicate and wondrous eco-system has taken thousands of years to develop. It is estimated that some trees on Pikes Peak are over 2000 years old. Wildlife abounds; keep your eyes peeled for grazing mule deer and other critters. Sit back and enjoy the view on this unforgettable journey through pristine wilderness.
