This bike tour lets you relive the tense, tragic days of the Cold War, when the Iron Curtain fell on Berlin and a city was walled off from itself. Bike from the West end of the city to the East Side Gallery, one of the last-standing stretches of the Wall, where the torture of a nation torn in two is scrawled in loud, emotional graffiti. Read the Stalinist propaganda on the Soviet war monument at Treptower Park and bike through the haunting stretch of watchtowers that line the former deathstrip, where snipers trained their sights on people who defied the tyranny of the Wall. Lunch in a historic old train station and discuss the circumstances of the Cold War era that made Berlin a center stage for international tensions.
