Relive the horror of the two most famous Anglo-Zulu War battles. Visit the eerie battlefield of Isandlwana, where British troops were massacred by the Zulu army in 1879, then continue to Rorke's Drift, where a handful of British soldiers heroically held a mighty Zulu regiment at bay, a battle made famous by the movie 'Zulu'. The tour winds through some of the most spectacularly beautiful scenery in KwaZulu-Natal. Often referred to as the ‘jewel of KwaZulu-Natal, Greytown lies in the forest-clad, rolling hills of the Natal Midlands, a picturesque little town originally settled during the 1850s and subsequently awash with buildings of note, scenic drives and Boer history. Visit the battlefields of Zululand and learn more about the eventful history of South Africa’s struggle with British soldiers at Isandlawana and Rorke’s Drift. You can visit the memorial of two renowned British soldiers of this battle, Lt. Coghill and Lt. Melville, at the Fugitive’s Drift.
