Spend two nights in the Atlas Mountains and hike to the summit of the 4,167 metre high Jbel Toubkal to enjoy a spectacular sunrise. Travel from Marrakech through many little hamlets and Berber villages to the magnificent Western High Atlas Mountains. En route trek past the villages of Taourirt, Targa and Imoula. In the village of Sidi Chamharouch, start your ascent of the mighty Jbel Toubkal. Trek to the summit and enjoy a breathtaking view of Morocco's landscape. Take the Ikkhibi Sud or South Cirque route and descend along the steep, zigzagging trails of the higher slopes of the Valley of the Assif n'lsouhouanem n'Ouagounss towards the Berber village of Sidi Chamharouch. Visit the Tinejad Valley, the stamping grounds of the Berber warriors of the Aït Atta tribe and spend the night in a carpeted nomadic tent. This expedition to Jbel Toubkal in the Atlas Mountains is one of the must dos on your holiday in the African country of Morocco.
