Set out on a journey of exploration across Peru’s amazing natural wonders, pass through charming ancient cities and be rewarded by the mesmerizing sight of the majestic Andean condor, the bird with the largest wingspan in the world. Arequipa lies at the feet of three mighty volcanoes: Mount Chachani, Mount Misti, and the snow-covered peak of Mount Pichu Pichu. Also named the ‘White City’ due to its glistening white buildings which were built from the volcanic rock ‘sillar’, history lies around every corner in Arequipa. The twin districts of Yanahuaraand Cayma in Arequipa are a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Siteand feature mixed baroque churches and mansions from the colonial period. The Colca Valley is one of Peru’s most beautiful natural landscapes, while the stunning Colca Canyon is home to one the most majestic birds in nature – the endangered Andean condor. Watching the graceful condors flying at the Cruz del Condor, the highest viewpoint of the Colca Canyon, is an unforgettable experience.
