Experience a fantastic ecotourism adventure at the internationally-acclaimed Kapawi Eco Lodge and Reserve, deep in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest. With a number of ecotourism awards in its kitty, this Reserve promises a rainforest experience with a difference. The Kapawi Lodge, built in Achuar community style without a single nail, is located in the most remote area of the Ecuadorian Amazon basin, close to its border with Perú. The area is home to about 500 species of birds, pink dolphins, giant otters, caiman, tapirs, capybaras, and more, and the itineraries are totally tailored to suit your needs. Choose your own itinerary from a mixed bag of activities from hikes in the dense rainforest, fishing for the razor-toothed piranha, camping, canoeing, bird watching, thrilling night treks and visits to the Achuar Indian communities. Once in Kapawi, you will be miles away from civilization - the nearest town is a 2 week walk through the forest! However, it is this remoteness that makes Kapawi such a special and unique place.
