With wildlife galore, bird watching and stunning landscape, Tanzania's northern wildlife safari parks are the perfect getaway! Visit Arusha National Park, set out on game safaris and spot a variety of African wildlife. With the Kilimanjaro and Meru Mountain in the backdrop, this reserve is also visually arresting. You can also visit the Ngurdoto Crater and the Momela Lakes, one of many alkaline lakes in the East African Rift Valley. Get a taste of the tribal culture, as you meet the Hadzabe people. This tribe has a distinct 'click' sound language and have inhabited this area for the last 10,000 years. Visit the world famous 14,763 square kilometres Serengeti National Park. This reserve encompasses the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the Maswa Game Reserve and Kenya's Masai Mara up till Lake Victoria in the Western Corridor. The sheer variety of African wildlife in this reserve has no comparison with any other reserve in the world! Set out on a safari and spot lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, buffaloes, gazelles, giraffes and a variety of birds. On your way to the Ngorongoro, you stop at Ol Duvai Gorge (100 metres, 50 kilometres long), which cuts through the Serengeti plains. On reaching the 8300 square kilometres Ngorongoro conservation area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, drive up to the 20 kilometres wide Ngorongoro crater, whose thick forests, grasslands and wetlands provide the perfect setting for game spotting.
