This extensive tour of exotic and beautiful Morocco involves a visit to the cities of Rabat, Meknes, Fez, Casablanca and Marrakech. Tangier is ancient Phoenician town located at the point where the waters of the Mediterranean and the Atlantic meet. The surrounding mountains provide a magnificent backdrop to this intriguing city. Meknes is dominated by the unfinished but magnificent Royal Palace, the city is a jewel that any serious traveller should not miss. Casablanca, the economic capital and legendary city of Morocco, has all the hallmarks of a modern metropolis with the old city (medina) in the north and the enormous Hassan II Mosque its noteworthy landmarks. The beauty of Marrakech lies in its atmosphere and spectacular location. The peaks of the Atlas Mountains make an outstanding backdrop. Fez is one of the four so-called "Imperial Cities".The Medina of Fes el Bali is believed to be the largest contiguous car free urban area in the world. Fes el Bali is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a number of the major monuments are being restored and saved from ruin.
