Kangaroo Island is a haven for Australian wildlife. It is home to 267 species of birds, many of which have developed their own subspecies and are therefore unique to the island. At Seal Bay take a guided walk along the beach, among the sea lions. Travel to the island’s interior, watching for koalas and echidnas. Listen for Australia’s rarest Kangaroo Island Glossy Black cockatoo, and watch for the Tammar wallaby. Later see kangaroos leave the bush to graze in open pastures.
