Explore the Tasmanian capital city of Hobart and learn more about its convict past on this tour. Australia’s second oldest city, Hobart lies at the flanks of the 1270 meter high Mt Wellington, skirting Derwent River. From majestic mansions to tiny little cottages and one of the finest deep-water harbours, Hobart will captivate you from the word ‘go’. Visit Battery Point, originally home to the worker’s and travel back in time as you walk along quaint narrow avenues lined with doll like houses. Salamanca Place is the cultural hub of the city. There are dozens of cafes, restaurants, galleries and craft shops here and you can stroll around and pick up souvenirs or just absorb the atmosphere of Hobart. You will also visit the Female Factory, once a prison to house women convicts. End your tour with a stop at Rosny Hill lookout for a commanding view of Hobart and its scenic environs.
