For your exciting Phuket Elephant Safari & Junk Cruise experience you will be picked up from your hotel in a jeep at around 0800h (8:00am).
Accompanied by an English-speaking guide, you will drive into the beautiful Chalong highlands.
You will arrive at Siam Safari elephant camp, picturesquely located on the top of a mountain. Here you can meet the elephants and learn about them and the mahouts who take care of them. You will also find out about Thai elephant conservation and how you can contribute.
See how young elephants are trained – you can touch them and feed them with fruit. The elephants will put on an entertaining show for your benefit, including painting and playing music. They will even kiss you on the cheek!
Climb onto your elephant and trek through the forest, enjoying magnificent views over Chalong Bay and out to Phi Phi island.
In the forest, you will be shown how Thai jungle curry is made and can try some – if you dare! See how rubber trees are “tapped” to produce natural rubber latex and discover how coconuts are processed to make coconut milk and oil. Learn about the Thai water buffaloes, and enjoy a ride on a wooden cart pulled by one of these sturdy creatures.
Leaving the elephant camp you will be driven to the coast to board a traditional wooden junk. The Burmese-style junk will set off across Chalong Bay, giving you delightful views of the various islands and the Giant Buddha statue. The adventure ends with a delicious buffet lunch on the boat, a selection of succulent Thai dishes specially prepared so that they are not too spicy.
After the tour, you will be dropped back at your hotel at around 1300h (01:00pm).
