Overview

Travel to the Top of Europe on a full-day trip to Jungfraujoch, Europe's highest railway station!

Once you reach the top you can take in breath-taking panoramas of the surrounding mountains from the Sphinx Observatory, and venture through the Ice Palace to see beautiful ice sculptures.

On the way to Jungfraujoch, you can explore scenic Swiss towns of Interlaken.

The train ride up to the station is a great photo opportunity, offering diverse views of the Alps and Switzerland's rolling green hills.

Itinerary

Your tour to Jungfraujoch starts from Zurich's Sihlquai bus terminal. A multilingual guide who speaks English and Spanish will accompany you throughout your trip.

The journey through the Bernese Oberland to Jungfraujoch begins with a scenic coach ride to Interlaken, a Swiss town best known for its resorts and winter sports, you will arrive in Interlaken at around 10:15am.

After 30 minutes to explore Interlaken, you'll board a cog-wheel train in Grindelwald, a small town nestled in amongst the Alps. The train travels up through the mountains, offering breath-taking views of the landscape perfect for photographs. You'll need to change trains again at Kleine Scheidegg;  After changing trains, the rest of the trip to the Top of Europe takes place underground.

At around 1:00pm and 3500 metres up you'll reach Jungfraujoch, the highest-altitude railway station in the Europe. Once there, you will have around 2 hours spare time, you can visit the Sphinx Observatory, which offers beautiful panoramic views of the famous Swiss mountains. You can see for miles from the observation deck; it seems as though you're floating amongst the clouds.

The Aletsch Glacier - Europe's longest - and the Ice Palace are also located at Jungfraujoch. Make sure to visit the sparkling Ice Palace, a series of rooms and corridors carved into the glacier itself! The Ice Palace is home to various ice sculptures, with more added every year. Restaurants are located on the mountain for optional meals, snacks and drinks.

The train ride down the mountain will still take you back to Kleine Scheidegg, where instead of getting on the train going to Grindelwald, you'll take the train through Lauterbrunnen. The coach will meet you at Lauterbrunnen to take you safely back to Zurich, returning around 8:00pm.
