Overview

Enjoy the beauty of the  landscape of Switzerland with a trip to Mount Pilatus from Lucerne only during summer, most of the times there is no snow.

After reaching the top, take in the breathtaking scenery of the snow-capped Alps blending with the clear blue sky.

Itinerary

You will be picked up in an air-conditioned coach and taken to Kriens, accompanied by a  guide speaking (English)

Kriens is a municipality in the district of Lucerne, at the foot of Mount Pilatus. From Kriens, take a panorama gondola and cable-car ride (about 40 minutes) to the summit of Mount Pilatus, at an altitude of 2132 metres. From the top, enjoy magnificent views of the Alps, the surrounding mountains and lakes. Take the Dragon Path, an easy stroll through the rock gallery on Mount Pilatus.  You are at leisure for about 1½ hours on Mount Pilatus to enjoy the scenery and take up short hikes.

 From Alpnachstad, board your coach for a return journey to Lucerne. The tour ends at Waldstaetterhof.

    During winters if a mountain has to close the cable cars/ cogwheel trains because of bad weather, there are two possible situations:

    If the news is received BEFORE the coach has left for the tour, you have below options:

    Postponing the tour to another day

    Changing the booking to another mountain (generally no refund because the tour is fully guided)

    Not taking any tour and get full refund

    If the news is received AFTER the coach has left, you have below option:

    Changing the booking where you will be taken to another mountain (no refund, because the tour is fully guided)

    The Cogwheel train season had to be postponed to Monday, 5th June 2023 (instead of Thursday, 18th May 2023) due to unfavourable weather conditions
