For your Tenerife Carnival Show from Tacoronte you will be picked up from your hotel in the north of Tenerife between 1845h (6.45 pm) to 1945h (7:45pm). This will give plenty of time for you to reach the venue for The Show which starts at 2000h (8:00pm).
Many people do not realize that Tenerife has a Carnival every January. And it is no modest affair; Tenerife’s main carnival in the nation’s capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, is said to be only second to Rio’s in size and splendor.
If you can’t be on the island for the Carnival you can capture the flavor and fun at the popular ‘Carnival Show’.
The colorful 3 ½ hour Carnival show features a band playing dance music, like samba or Brazilian ‘Batucada’ that will delight everyone with its happy rhythm. You will also see an exhibition of authentic Canary Island traditional dancing.
Among the highlights of the evening is a parade of girls wearing magnificent and exotic costumes which have previously appeared in Carnival processions.
During the evening, you will enjoy a dinner, from a set menu, where you will be served typical local dishes such as: ‘potaje canario’ (Canary vegetable soup), ‘papas arrugadas’ (potatoes – salted with their skin with ‘mojo’ sauce), and ‘Gofio’ (roasted ground maize meal mixed with sugar).
Mojo sauce is usually red or green – red is usually for meat and can be quite spicy, green is for fish, based on garlic and coriander. You will be offered water, soft drinks and wine during the dinner.
The Show ends at 2330h (11:30pm). At the end of a delightful night out you will be dropped back at the place where you were picked up.
