Itinerary

Your Madrid Segway Tour tour will depart from Plaza de Santa María Soledad Torres Acosta, 2, 28004 Madrid. You can choose between a 2½ hour or 1½ hour trip. After a brief Segway lesson, you'll be off to see the sights of Madrid!

Tour Highlights (1½ hour tour):

Plaza de Callao: One of Madrid's busiest squares, Plaza de Callao is the centre of the city's cinema and theatre. Hundreds of millions of people visit the square each year, as much to see its art deco style as to take in a show.

Gran Via:The Gran Via, or Mile of Gold, is over a century old, dating back to the rule of King Alfonso XIII. Nowadays, this upscale street is the top place to shop in the city.

Plaza de España: Located in central Madrid, the plaza is flanked by two of the city's most prominent skyscrapers. A monument dedicated to the poet Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra sits in the centre of the plaza.

Templo de Debod: Templo de Debod was originally an Egyptian temple, but was sent to Spain - block by block - as a thank-you for the help of Spanish archeologists in saving Egyptian monuments. The Temple now sits in Madrid's Parque del Oeste, and is open to the public.

Plaza de Oriente: This magnificent plaza is the site of a palace that was to be the Spanish Versailles. Now, the plaza contains a host of statues, and is also home to Madrid's opera house the Teatro Real.

Madrid de los Austrias: Often referred to as Habsburg's Madrid, this historic neighborhood is home to many cultural sights of the city, namely the Royal Palace. Finished in 1764, the Royal Palace has over 2800 rooms.

Catedral de la Almudena: The neo-gothic cathedral was started in 1879 and finished in 1992. Because of its late finish, the interior of the cathedral is surprisingly modern, with decorations ranging from historical to pop art.

Mercado de San Miguel: This historical Madrid market is considered one of the best places in the city to go to for tapas. Here, you can sample some of Spain's finest cuisine.

Puerto del Sol: Gate of the Sun serves as the centre for Madrid's network of roads. Famous statues, such as the Bear and the Madroño Tree, sit in the square. Perto del Sol is also the location of the famous clock that marks the beginning of the new year with its chimes.
