Circulo de Bellas Artes, located at the entrance of Gran Via, one of the most important cultural spots in Madrid and one of director Pedro Almodovar’s favourite spots.
Continue along the Gran Via, the real heart of Madrid with its beautiful 1930's buildings and its great vitality.
At the end of the Gran Via, you will find Plaza de Espana, and the statue of Spanish novelist Cervantes’ heroes....Don Quixote and Sancho Panza. This area is also home to skyscrapers built in the 1940s.
Plaza de Oriente, is located on the western side of Madrid and on the east side of the Palacio Real. Inside the plaza (square) are 44 statues of Spanish rulers. In the centre of the Square is a statue of Felipe IV.
Out of the 2800 rooms of the Palacio Real (Royal Palace), only sixteen rooms are opened to the public. The original palace was built around 1537.
Vistillas Garden, provides a commanding view of the Cathedral de Nuestra Señora de la Almudena, the right spot for beautiful landscape photography.
To reach the Plaza de la Villa (the Mayor’s office building), you will walk through old Madrid where the narrow streets and beautiful lighting provide many photo opportunities. See its old churches , buildings, squares and the bars and clubs that transform the area at night for the classic "Movida Madrilena".
Plaza Mayor, is probably the most known square in Madrid. It was used for such events as bullfights, jousting, and public executions. Even today, the Plaza can hold up to 100,000 people. The arches on the four sides of the square and the life and vitality in it make this a good and relaxed spot to take beautiful pictures.
Continue to Plaza Santa Ana, which is basically the gate to La Movida Madrilena, a newly-renovated pedestrian square full of bars, theatres, musicians, street artists and a great spot to relax after the long walk. It also provides some great photo opportunities.
