Your Terra Natura Theme Park from Benidorm experience starts directly at the park. Public bus nos 1 and 41 will drop you close to the park entrance or you could take a taxi. If you are outside Benidorm and travelling by car you should take the CV70 route to the park. The park opens at 1000h (10:00am). On arrival you should show your isango voucher to gain entrance.
Terra Natura is Benidorm’s latest theme park. Part of it is essentially an animal safari park divided into four continents, three of which (America, Asia and Europe) are modern and one (Pangea) is ancient. Each continental sector contains exhibits of the history, culture and wildlife associated with it. You'll even find typical dishes of the region in the restaurants for each sector.
For example, in the America section, you have a chance to discover the fascinating world of the Mayas and their mythology. You could also stroll through the picturesque village of Copaltenango to try out the delicious fajitas of Dona Maria La Acunada or shop for souvenirs at the Popol-Vuh market.
In the Pangea section, you will see rivers of lava and huge rock formations plus spiders, giant ants, grasshoppers, dragonflies and other primitive creatures.
In the Asia section, you will see elephants, lions, Sumatra tigers, rhinos, buffaloes and crocodiles in their natural habitat. You could also come across fakirs and snake-charmers as you explore further.
In the Europe section, enter the charming village of Kalicameni and visit the Greek ruins, discover the ecosystem of the Mediterranean forest and learn about the local traditions.
It's a fabulous day out for children, who see Terra Natura as a fun theme park but still gain educational value from the visit as they learn about new continents. They can marvel at their surroundings in total security because the park has been designed to allow guests to wander very close to the animals without being in any danger.
Other exciting experiences at the park include a 25-minute ‘Birds of Prey in Flight’ show and the 20-minute ‘Sun of Veracruz’ Mexican horseman show.
Terra Natura also has a popular water park section. Here, parents can relax on sunbeds next to the enormous lake-sized swimming pool, water slides and children's play area and still keep an eye on the kids.
The park closes between 1800h - 2000h (6:00pm - 8:00pm) during the season and you can spend as long as you like there up to closing time. At the end of a fun-filled day out, you should make your own arrangements to get back to your accommodation.
