In the morning, you will be picked up in an air-conditioned coach from your hotel in central Cape Town. There will be English commentary in the coach.
Take a scenic drive along the Atlantic Coast passing through the fishing village of Hout Bay. Here, you have the option of taking a short boat trip to Duiker Island (if time permitting) to view the Cape fur seals (cost not included).
Further on, proceed along Chapman’s Peak Drive on to Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. At the park, you will come across a variety of fynbos (it is the name given to the vegetation in the reserve). This includes 30 endangered plant species and 10 unique to the reserve.
Continue to False Bay, a body of water defined by the Cape Peninsula. Enjoy the sight of the mysteriously beautiful mountains of False Bay. The bay stretches from Cape Point to Cape Hangklip. Its name came about because early navigators mistook Hangklip for Cape Point.
Return to Cape Town by way of the Simon’s Town naval base where you will visit the penguin colony at Boulders Beach (cost not included). Along the way, you will stop for lunch at a local restaurant (cost not included). Travel via Fishhoek fishing village and Muizenberg to Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens for a short walking tour of these beautiful gardens.
You will be dropped back to your hotel in central Cape Town passing the University of Cape Town, Rhodes Memorial and the Groote Schuur Hospital.
