    The Otago Peninsula, stretching along the southern edge of Otago Harbour is an easy drive from central Dunedin. Home to some of the rarest wildlife in the world, it is characterized by lush green pastures, small bays and inlets, sandy beaches, rugged hills and volcanic landforms

    You can enjoy close encounters with the world’s rarest penguin, the Yellow Eye. On the secluded beaches are sea lions and their pups, fur seals, and blue penguins.

    Itinerary

    You will be picked up from your hotel in Dunedin and taken in an air-conditioned coach for a sightseeing tour of Otago Peninsula. Your tour includes a cruise as well as a scenic bus ride.

    Board your cruise vessel at Otago Harbor and set out on a harbor and Taiaroa Head wildlife cruise. Cruise the length of the beautiful Otago Harbour. The 20 kilometer-long shallow-bottomed fiord is home to an abundance of wildlife such as blue penguins, terns, petrels, fur seals and more. This one-hour cruise offers unrivalled viewing of wildlife in its natural and inaccessible environment.

    Scenic bus tour of Otago Peninsula:
    Continue your tour in an air-conditioned bus and explore the scenic Otago Peninsula with your English-speaking guide.

    After this you have choice of a visit to the Yellow-Eyed Penguin Reserve. This tour last for about 90 minutes.

    Yellow Eyed Penguin Reserve: This Reserve is home to the world’s most endangered penguin - the yellow-eyed penguin. The Yellow Eyed Penguin Reserve is situated near the end of the Otago Peninsula and is five minutes from the Albatross Colony. The reserve has been enormously successful in increasing the number of yellow-eyed penguins.

    At the end of the tour you will be dropped back at your hotel In Dunedin.
