Itinerary

At the start of your 4 Day Margaret River, Tree Top Walk, Albany & Wave Rock tour you will be picked up from your Perth hotel. (Alternatively, you should make your way to the meeting point at Perth Sightseeing Centre, at the corner of Hay and Pier Streets.) You will travel in a luxury coach and will be accompanied throughout the tour by an English-speaking guide.

Day 1: Perth to Margaret River Wine Region

Leaving Perth, your coach heads south towards the Margaret River Wine Region. On the way you will stop to experience an Australian sheep dog and shearing demonstration at the Yallingup Shearing Shed.

Following lunch, visit the chocolate and cheese factories (time permitting) to taste some of their delicious produce and then sample some of the excellent locally produced wines. At Busselton, you'll see the longest wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere.

You will stay the night at Abbey Beach Resort, Busselton (or similar). Abbey Beach Resort offers apartments and studios with fully-equipped kitchen facilities.

The Resort has tennis and squash courts, a barbecue area, and children's playground. Guests can enjoy a swim in the grand outdoor pool or the heated indoor pool. There is a state-of-the-art gymnasium and a sauna available.

The onsite Brasserie Restaurant serves upscale cuisine and fine Margaret River wines. Cocktails, fine beers, and snacks are available at the poolside Reflections Cafe, the Lounge Bar and John Abbey Sports Bar.

Day 2: Margaret River Wine Region to Pemberton

After breakfast, enjoy free time in the town-ship of Margaret River before heading out to Surfers Point Lookout to see spectacular coastal views.

At Mammoth Cave, 500 meters long and 30 meters deep, you will be given a guided tour of the breath-taking rock formations and hear about the extraordinary animals that once lived in this region.

Boarding the coach again you will head further south through the stunning Boranup Forest. You will arrive at Australia's most south-westerly point, Augusta, and visit Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse where the Indian and Great Southern Oceans meet.

You'll have the opportunity to climb the 61-meter Gloucester Tree followed by a visit to the Fine Woodcraft Gallery; one of Western Australia's most awarded regional galleries.

You will stay the night at the Karri Valley Resort (or similar). Karri Valley is located on the edge of Lake Beedelup and is surrounded by majestic karri forest.

The Resort facilities include a tennis court, shared laundry facilities, games room, non-motorised water sports, bar and lounge and barbecue facilities.

The Lakeside Restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner every day and uses only the best of local produce.

Day 3: Pemberton to Albany

After breakfast at the Resort, take a short stroll to the majestic Beedelup Falls and then travel south to the coastal resort town of Walpole. Here you will join a local guide for a cruise on the Nornalup Inlet, widely regarded as one of the last great wilderness areas.

Next stop is the Valley of the Giants 'Tree Top Walk' which takes you across a canopy of towering tingle trees at a height of 40 meters above the ground. Found only in the forest surrounding Valley of the Giants, tingle trees are some of the tallest in the world. Afterwards, head to the Albany region and enjoy coastal sightseeing, visiting 'The Gap' and 'Natural Bridge.'

You will stay the night in the Ace Motor Inn Albany (or similar). The Inn is located 1.5 km from central Albany. It is surrounded by gardens and is a short drive from Middleton Beach. Rooms at the motel are quiet and comfortable. There is air conditioning, a work desk and satellite TV in all guest rooms.

Day 4: Albany to Wave Rock to Perth

After breakfast you will have the chance to enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Stirling Ranges. You will visit the base of Bluff Knoll – the tallest peak for a thousand kilometers or more in any direction and a popular attraction in the area.

Next, you will travel north-east through extensive farmlands and the southern wheat belt to the small town of Hyden.

After lunch at the Hyden Wildflower Shop, you take a short walk to the extraordinary landform of Wave Rock. Created by natural forces over millennia, this is a 15-metre high 110-metre long granite formation in the shape of a breaking wave. Different minerals add a dazzling striped effect to this remarkable piece of natural art.

Then relax on the leisurely return journey, which takes you through picturesque wheat-belt country. You will arrive back in Perth at around 2030h (8:30pm).
