On this guided trip to the Palace of Fontainebleau, Vaux-Le-Vicomte and Barbizon village get a flavour of France’s history and natural beauty. The imposing Fontainebleau Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and awe- inspiring because of its beautiful frescoes, ornamented rooms, exquisite chandeliers and gilded beds. Formerly a hunting lodge, it became the favourite residence for many French rulers like Francois I, Henri IV and Napoleon. Visitors flock to see the double-horseshoe staircase from where Napoleon said farewell to his guards when he was exiled. Also visit the Vaux-Le-Vicomte. This palace was built by Nicolas Fouquet, the finance superintendent of Louis XIV, and has elegant interiors and a beautifully landscaped garden. Barbizon, charms you with its narrow streets and houses picturesquely located on the edge of the Fontainebleau Forest and the Angelus plain.
