Rising out of the ocean and surrounded by waves and moving sands, the Mont Saint Michel abbey is an imposing sight. One of Normandy’s historical and architectural wonders, it is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Mont Saint Michel abbey lies on a rocky islet, largely gothic in style, the monument was built over centuries. An important pilgrimage site in the Middle Ages, it now draws travellers with its dramatic setting and architecture. The abbey reflects a mixture of Norman-Roman and Gothic architectural styles and has a rich history to tell. From the abbey gain a stunning panoramic view of Normandy’s coastline and the crashing waves below. Truly an architectural marvel, the Mont Saint Michel abbey will impress with its incredible beauty and fascinating history.
