Petanque, also known as Boules (ball in French), is an exciting outdoor game first played in France around 1907. The game has since become popular all over the world. One of the best things about petanque is that it can be played by everyone no matter their age or athletic ability. Petanque is one of the best-loved activities by Parisians and a unique, out-of-the-ordinary experience for a visitor.
All the game requires is aiming and throwing hollow metal balls as close as possible to a small wooden ball while standing inside a starting circle. The game is fit for all ages and makes for a great family outing! The intimate Place Dauphine, one of the most beautiful squares in Paris, will serve as your play area. All instructions are provided by a passionate expert guide. As an added bonus adults can enjoy wine and the younger players will be offered soft drinks.
Meet your guide on Pont Neuf Bridge, by the horse statue. Your guide will be wearing a hot pink vest. From the statue there is a short walk to Place Dauphine.
Your passionate guide will give you an introduction into the history of the game, the rules, strategies and techniques. You will have a great time putting all that new knowledge into good use during your game. Sip on some complimentary drinks and see who comes out as the winner!
Your excursion will last around 90 minutes, after which you need to make your own way back to your accommodation.
