The Otago Peninsula, stretching along the southern edge of Otago Harbour is an easy drive from central Dunedin. Home to some of the rarest wildlife in the world, it is characterized by lush green pastures, small bays and inlets, sandy beaches, rugged hills and volcanic landforms.

This premier package includes the Otago Harbour and Taiaroa Head wildlife cruise, scenic Otago Peninsula bus tour, and guided tours of the Royal Albatross Colony, the Yellow Eyed Penguin Reserve and a visit to wading bird habitats.

Taiaroa Head is the only mainland breeding colony of the Royal Albatross in the world. Nearby you can enjoy close encounters with the world’s rarest penguin, the Yellow Eye. On the secluded beaches are sea lions and their pups, fur seals, and blue penguins.

This tour also includes an option of a visit to either Larnach Castle, one of Dunedin's great landmarks.

Cruise the length of the beautiful Otago Harbour. The 20 kilometer-long shallow-bottomed fiord, Otago Harbour, is home to an abundance of wildlife. This 1-hour cruise offers unrivalled viewing of wildlife in its natural and inaccessible environment.

Scenic bus tour of Otago Peninsula:
Board an air-conditioned bus and explore the scenic Otago Peninsula with your English-speaking guide.

Visit the Royal Albatross Colony, the Yellow Eyed Penguin Reserve and a wading bird habitats. Experience magnificent viewing of the exciting diversity of wildlife which abounds on spectacular Taiaroa Head; the only mainland nesting place for Northern Royal Albatross in the world, and home to New Zealand fur seals, and eight other nesting bird species. There's always a possibility of seeing a fascinating array of rarely seen ocean birds including other species of albatross, penguins and marine mammals in their natural environment.

You have an option of visiting Larnach Castle.

Larnach Castle:
Discover New Zealand’s only castle, built 1871 by William Larnach, merchant baron and politician. Today, the castle is the home of the Barker family, who have spent more than thirty five years restoring the building and recreating the beauty of the 35 acres of gardens and grounds.

At the end of the tour you will be dropped back at your hotel in Dunedin.
