Itinerary

You will be picked up from your hotel and taken for a Sound and Light Show at the Waitangi Treaty Grounds.

You will be ushered through the historic grounds where the treaty was signed and you will witness an authentic Maori welcome.

The renowned Sound and Light show is told through the eyes of a grandparent and grandson. Be transported back 1000 years and then forward to the 19th century and the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi (founding document of New Zealand).

The Marae (traditional carved Maori meeting house) is transformed for this contemporary production combining drama, music and dance.

At the end of the performance you will have an opportunity to mingle with the cast and learn about their lives and histories as well.

The tour ends with a drop-off at your hotel in Paihia.
