Marvel at the world famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves, one of New Zealand's most celebrated tourist attractions. Take a boat trip through the spectacular Glowworm Grotto, illuminated by thousands of tiny lights from the glowworms suspended from the cave ceiling. Marvel at Mother Nature's light display as you glide silently through this starry wonderland.

This tour also takes you to a number of leading attractions in Rotorua.

Itinerary

You will be picked up from your hotel and taken to the departure point of the tour, Discover New Zealand Travel Centre, 180 Quay Street. From here, you will board a luxury coach with commentary and set out on a day's sightseeing tour of Waitomo and Rotorua.

The itinerary for this tour is as follows:
7.00am: Hotel/motel pick-ups commence
7.20am: Check in at Discover New Zealand Travel Centre
7.30am: Depart from 180 Quay Street, morning tea served en route
Pass through the city of Hamilton (note: a detour due to timing constraints may delete Hamilton in order to arrive at the pre-booked time at the Waitomo Caves)
On arrival, enjoy a guided tour of the world famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves
A light lunch is served on board your coach as you make your way to Rotorua
Visit Rainbow Springs for a guided walk through this beautiful flora and fauna display located beside a large natural water spring, home to thousands of Rainbow trout. A highlight of this walk is a visit to the Kiwi House to view New Zealand's national bird.
Reboard your coach, travel via the lakefront through the beautiful Government Gardens, past Rotorua's Tudor Towers, alongside the geothermal steam pools (famous for their therapeutic qualities) towards Te Puia.
Pohutu Geyser, which spurts boiling water and steam high into the air on a regular basis.
Reboard your coach to return to Auckland. Tea/coffee and a light snack are served on board.
Hotel/motel drop offs commence.
