Arrive at the designated departure point of tier 2, Ferry Terminal, 99 Quay Street. Be sure to arrive 15 minutes before the actual time of departure.
Enjoy a 25 minute cruise across the Waitemata Harbor to Rangitoto Island. On arrival your island ranger guide will greet you as you leave the ferry, and direct you to the 4WD road train nearby.
Once on board, you will journey through rugged lava crops and native bush, whilst your knowledgeable guide talks to you about the history and geology of the island. The tour can only reach the base of the summit from where it is a 10-15 minute walk to the summit along a wooden boardwalk with steps to the very top.
Enjoy panoramic views of Auckland City and the Hauraki Gulf from your unique vantage point.
Return and once again board the road train to the wharf around the west coast side of the island for different vistas through lush bush, lava crops and fern glens.
Board your cruise vessel for the ride back to the Ferry Terminal in Auckland where the tour concludes.
