There are numerous stops enroute to take in the scenic highlights and activities. Experience the peaceful stillness of the Puketi Kauri Forest during a comfortable guided boardwalk through the ancient towering Kauri trees. Drive along Ninety Mile Beach to the remotest northern corner of New Zealand and wander out to the lighthouse, its whiteness contrasting dramatically against the blue ocean. Ride on sand sledges, take a swim and dig for shellfish.
This is a tour that packs in a gamut of activities and promises to be a rewarding experience.
Discover scenic Northland in New Zealand as you head towards Cape Regina via 90 Mile Beach. Listen to an enlightening commentary on board the Dune Rider on both historic and cultural points of interest. Plenty of stops will be made for photos and to break the journey.
On this fun-filled tour, you will:
• Walk among giant Kauri trees at Puketi Forest
• Enjoy a 4WD along the 90 Mile Beach
• Dig for Tuatuas (shellfish) on the beach
• Drive along Te Paki quicksand stream
• Boogie board down huge sand dunes at Te Paki
• Visit Cape Reinga Lighthouse
• Swim, collect shells or just relax on a beautiful sandy beach
• Visit Awanui’s Ancient Kauri Kingdom, the award-winning craft workshop.
Throughout the day the tour takes you through a diverse range of scenery, from orchards and farmland to exotic and native forests and beautiful coastal beaches on both the West and East Coasts of New Zealand.
Lunch is not included. You may either bring your own lunch or opt for the BBQ lunch available on the tour (payable direct.)
At the end of the tour, you will be dropped back at your hotel in Paihia.
