The Walter Peak Evening Dining Excursions tour on board the TSS Earnslaw begins from Steamer Wharf, Queenstown. Please make your own arrangements to reach this place a few minutes prior to departure time.

Set out on a scenic cruise on board the coal-fired vintage steamship TSS Earnslaw. Your cruise time is 45 minutes each way. The cruise will take you from Queenstown Bay to Walter Peak High Country Farm. On board the captain provides an interesting commentary as you enjoy spectacular views of Cecil and Walter Peaks and the western shores of Lake Wakatipu.

The original steam engines can be seen in operation from the open viewing area. Guided tours of the vessel are available and you are welcome to visit the Fo'c'sle Gallery to view the historic displays.

Disembark at Walter Peak High Country Farm.

This farm offers a fascinating glimpse into rural New Zealand. The farm demonstrators will take you on a guided tour through the Colonel's Homestead, surrounded by stunning lakes and mountains. This walking tour of the farmyard provides ample opportunity to view the farm animals - sheep, red deer and Scottish Highland cattle. Highlights of the farming experience are watching the farm demonstrator shear a sheep, and sheep dogs working stock.

The farm tour will be followed by a carvery style buffet, featuring the best of local and New Zealand meats and seafood, along with fresh vegetables and garden salads. The desserts are hard to resist, especially the creamy pavlova!

Your tentative menu consists of:
Cream of vegetable soup served with home-baked bread
Poached salmon, steamed greenlip mussels, seafood of the day, chicken lasagne, beef bourguignon, roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, roast southland leg of lamb, braised lamb shanks in rich red wine sauce
Seasonal vegetables, herb roast potatoes
Vegetarian dish of the day and garden fresh salads
Colonel’s apple crumble with custard, steamed pudding, homestead cheesecake, pavlova, Walter Peak special, fruit salad, fresh cream
