The Gondola Ride tour departs from the Skyline Complex and Gondola, Brecon Street in Queenstown. It is open from 0900h (9.00am) onwards till late night, so you can choose the time that suits you.
Gondola Ride: Reputed to be the steepest lift in the Southern Hemisphere, the Gondola carries visitors high above Queenstown to the Skyline complex located on Bob's Peak. The best views in the region are found here, spread out in a spectacular 2200 panorama with observation decks offering breathtaking vistas of Coronet Peak, The Remarkables mountain range and across Lake Wakatipu to Cecil and Walter Peaks. It's truly magnificent and awe-inspiring.
The Luge: The Luge is a fun-filled gravity ride on a three-wheeled cart that uses a unique braking and steering system giving riders full control to alter course and speed. With two custom-built tracks to choose from, the Luge offers fun for all ages and abilities. The Scenic track is a leisurely ride with gentle gradient, easy bends and dips, as well as rest areas giving riders plenty of opportunity to stop and take photographs and enjoy panoramic views. The Advanced track with a steeper gradient and twisting track, is a more adventurous ride with the thrill of banked corners, a tunnel, dips and hollows.
The Skyline Restaurant: This unique restaurant serves a lavish six course Taste of New Zealand dinner buffet of legendary proportions nightly. Lunch is also available in the summer months. Tiered seating guarantees stunning views from every table. Casual dining is available in the newly refurbished Skyline Cafe which offers a wide selection of snacks, refreshments, alcoholic beverages, as well as salad bar and grill options.
